The short Canadian Shield tournament started today. Canada played the higher ranked Ukraine. It was a lovely afternoon at BMO but the game looked poorly attended. Anyway, Canada looked world class for about 80m with an impressive showing by David, David and Tajon. A bit of lost focus cost Canada late, but a 4-2 win is a great result. Great job guys!
The final game of the Ball Hockey season was last night. It was a pretty meaningless game. I called it the Toilet Bowl. It was to determine who finished last. We didn't take it very seriously. Our captain thought it would be fun to see if we could get everyone to score... And it went really well... Ironically the non-typical scorers scored early and I was last... Scoring very late in the final quarter. Ha. But we did it! Fun way to end the season. We have a great bunch on our team. Hopefully everyone returns healthy in the Fall. The team that beat us by a goal (when we were short players) won the season. I was happy to see them win. We got cookies and had a big turn out for post game at Kelsey's. A great night.
Well...A great night except for Panthers winning in OT. *Meh!*

The future of Canadian Women's soccer looks very bright! Canada defeating BOTH local CONCACAF rivals, the US and Mexico to win the U20 CONCACAF tournament. What a crazy game. It went to overtime when it looked Canada would win on a hand ball PK. But it was stopped. Then the player that missed the PK (rare) scored an incredible individual effort highlight reel goal to win! Just amazing effort. The extremes of emotion. It was interupted (ironically) by my neighbours kids playing soccer and their ball ending up in my yard. How many times does it have to happen before it isn't funny anymore. Maybe they should take of music instead.
